I was introduced to the game of golf at a young age. My grandma would take us to the top of a hill behind her house and watch my cousins and I hit golf balls down the hill for hours. I first got serious about golf when I was a teenager. That is when I began competing in tournaments and I started trying to improve my game. My most memorable amateur highlight was finishing in the top 5 at the 2019 OVGA city and district. It was one of the first pressure-filled tournaments I had competed in and it was a great learning experience being up near the top of the leaderboard. This experience has helped boost my confidence and ultimately gave me the belief that I can compete with the best golfers.

J’ai été initié au golf à un très jeune âge. Ma grand-mère nous emmenait au sommet d’une colline derrière sa maison et nous regardait, mes cousins et moi, frapper des balles de golf pendant des heures. J’ai commencé à m’intéresser sérieusement au golf lorsque j’étais adolescent. C’est à ce moment-là que j’ai commencé à participer à des tournois et à essayer d’améliorer mon jeu. Mon moment le plus mémorable en tant qu’amateur a été de terminer dans les cinq premiers au tournoi de ville et de district 2019 de l’OVGA. C’était l’un des premiers tournois remplis de pression auxquels j’ai participé et c’était une excellente expérience d’apprentissage d’être près du sommet du classement. Cette expérience a contribué à renforcer ma confiance et m’a finalement donné la conviction que je peux rivaliser avec les meilleurs golfeurs.
