Martin started hitting golf balls at the age of 21. In university, he decided to specialize in teaching golf. He teaches physical education at the elementary level and works as a teacher’s aide during the school year. Martin has also been teaching golf for the past 12 years and it is a real passion for him. He is a professional and director of the golf academy at the Lac St-Joseph Golf Club in the Quebec City area.
It’s only after five years that he dedicates himself more and more to his game. He started competing seriously in the summer of 2020 as an amateur. It is in the fall of 2020 that he became a professional at the age of 46.
He decided to take on the challenge of competing professionally on several golf circuits: PGA of Quebec, PGA of Canada, East Coast Pro Tour, and the Mackenzie Tour. In his first professional tournament, he placed 11th on the Quebec PGA Tour, and in the 2021 season, he finished 50th out of 276 participants on the East Coast Pro Tour Order of Merit.
The finest moment in his career was playing competitively with his son for the first time at the Sherbrooke Championship on the East Coast Pro Tour last year.

Martin a commencé à frapper des balles de golf à l’âge de 21 ans. À l’Université, il décide de se spécialiser dans l’enseignement du golf. Il enseigne l’éducation physique au primaire et occupe un poste d’aide à la direction durant l’année scolaire. Également, Martin enseigne le golf depuis une douzaine d’année, c’est une vraie passion pour lui. Il est professionnel et directeur de l’Académie de golf au club de golf du Lac St-Joseph dans la région de Québec.
C’est depuis cinq seulement qu’il se consacre de plus en plus sur sa «game». Il a commencé sérieusement la compétition de golf durant l’été 2020 comme amateur. C’est à l’automne 2020 qu’il est devenu professionnel à l’âge de 46 ans.
Il décide de relever le défi de participer professionnellement à des compétions de golf sur plusieurs circuits : PGA du Québec, PGA du Canada, East Coast Pro Tour ainsi que sur le Mackenzie Tour. À son premier tournoi professionnel, il se classe en 11e position sur le circuit de la PGA du Québec et lors de la saison 2021, il termine en 50e position sur 276 participants à l’Ordres de mérite du East Coast Pro Tour.
Son plus beau moment en carrière a été de jouer pour la première fois en compétition avec son garçon lors du Championnat de Sherbrooke dans le East Cost Pro Tour l’an dernier.
